Property Taxes and Utilities – Towards the end of August statements of account were mailed to any villagers with outstanding balances of more than $10.00. These are intended only as a reminder, not a demand for payment. If you have not claimed your home owner grant, and are entitled to do so, please contact the Village office at your earliest convenience. We can also assist you in claiming retroactive grants for 2010.
Payment – The Village does not accept credit cards or debit cards, due to the extra cost of processing. Cheques, cash and bank transfers will be accepted as always!
Municipal Elections – November 19th is the date of our Municipal Elections. Nomination packages are available from the Village office and should be returned between October 4th and 14th. We urge anyone interested to consider standing for council or mayor. Salmo is a vibrant growing community and YOUR input in YOUR village is the very best way to guide our future development.
Building Inspections – RDCK Chief Building Inspector Max Hoedeman will be in the Village office on Tuesdays from 11:00am to 12:00 noon. Please call the Village office if you would like to set up an inspection.
RDCK Recreation Commission – Public meetings are held on the third Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at the Salmo Community Centre.
Mayor and Council – Mayor Henderson will be in the office every Monday from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. If you have concerns or suggestions you would like to discuss with her, please call the Village Office at 357-9433 to arrange an appointment. Council meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. at 423 Davies Avenue. Upcoming meetings will be September 13th & 27th.
Attending a Council Meeting as a Delegation – An application to present to Village Council must be submitted in writing by 4:30 p.m. on the Thursday prior to the meeting. Each delegation is limited to 15 minutes.
