Municipal Elections – November 19th is the date of our Municipal Elections. Nomination packages are available from the Village office and should be returned between October 4th and 14th. We urge anyone interested to consider standing for Council, Mayor, or School Trustee. Salmo is a vibrant, growing community and YOUR input in YOUR village is the very best way to guide our future development.
Fall Clean-Up –The Village crew will be around to pick up yard waste on October 3rd, 4th & 5th. If you could leave your waste bundled at your kerb side or back alley it would be appreciated.
Fences – If you are building a fence, the rules are up to 4 feet high in the front yard, and up to 6 feet high in the backyard.
Fire Hall Renovations– The Village will be renovating the Salmo Fire Hall to increase the size of the existing doors, converting the old Village office into a fourth bay, and installing energy-efficient bay doors.
Building Inspections – RDCK Chief Building Inspector Max Hoedeman will be in the Village office on Tuesdays from 11:00am to 12:00 noon. Please call the Village office if you would like to set up an inspection for Salmo building permits.
RDCK Recreation Commission – Public meetings are held on the third Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at the Salmo Community Centre.  
MeetingsCouncil meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. at 423 Davies Avenue. Upcoming meetings will be October 11th & 25th.
Attending a Council Meeting as a Delegation – An application to present to Village Council must be submitted in writing by 4:30 p.m. on the Thursday prior to the meeting. Each delegation is limited to 15 minutes.
WaterSmart Tip – Please do not put grease into the Village’s sewer system.
Thank You -Thank you to the many people who donated items to the Village of Salmo basket. This basket will be raffled off at the Union of British Columbia Municipalities Conference in Vancouver at the end of the month. Donations were very graciously provided by Andrew Raney, April Hutton, Marty Carter, Mayor Henderson, Toni Richens from Flower Sense, Linda Buffy from BC Spirit Soap, Salmo Public Library, Salmo Hotel, Salmo Valley Swimming Pool, Dragonfly Café, Peoples Drug Mart, Shop Easy and Salmo Foods.
