VILLAGE REPORT – April 2011
Dogs at Large– In response to the #1 complaint received at the Village office, the Village has contracted an Animal Control Officer to impound dogs found at large or unlicensed. It will be costly to have your dog returned, so please get them licensed, keep them at home or on a leash, and clean up behind them.
Salmo Judo ClassicThe Village of Salmo is excited to be hosting the Salmo Judo Classic on April 30th at the Salmo Valley Youth and Community Centre.
Street Sweeping – The Village Public Works crew will be out street sweeping in April, so please assist them by moving your vehicles out of the way.
Building Inspections – RDCK Building Inspector Lee Voykin will be in the Village office on Thursdays from 11:00am to 12:00 noon. Please call the Village office if you would like to set up an inspection.
Payment – The Village does not accept credit cards or debit cards, due to the extra cost of processing. Cheques, cash and bank transfers will be accepted as always! Tax bills will be coming out in mid-May.
Mayor and CouncilMayor Henderson will be in the office every Monday from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. If you have concerns or suggestions you would like to discuss with her, please call the Village Office at 357-9433 to arrange an appointment.   Council meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. at 423 Davies Avenue. Upcoming meetings will be on April 12th and 26th
Attending A Council Meeting as a Delegation – An application to present to Village Council must be submitted in writing by 4:30 p.m. on the Thursday prior to the meeting. Each delegation is limited to 15 minutes.
